A Story of Renewal -
In March’s transitory light petals that float like butterflies against a sheer curtain dappled with sun and shadow. In counterpoint to this airiness a tablecloth serves as a ground. Rich colors make the floral pattern and the gold rimmed plate a solid earth like foundation from which the paper wrapped cyclamen rises to greet us.
This scene, although centered on spring’s transience, reveals the rich permanence of the natural world. Although light and flowers may be fleeting, changing with the seasons, this cyclamen’s deep green leaves and pink flowers hold the promise of renewal.
