There is a tacit invitation to simply sit among lilacs. Teased by their exquisite aroma, we watch and wait for the delicate buds to unfurl. Entirely unbothered by the impatience of the modern world, the flowers open at their own pace. When they finally bloom, armfuls of nodding, pillowy stems can be brought indoors, elevating our homes and hearts.
All too soon, the lilacs fade, leaving behind a quiet longing for the sensory awakening they bring each year.
In this brief, beautiful season, my intention is to capture the lingering spirit of these timeless flowers. Days pass and seasons shift, but the memory of lilacs abides, offering a gentle invitation to tarry, if only for a moment, among the blooms.
